I had this site sent to me by a friend, but at the time I

thinking about it 9 months later it will only grow if it is

Cert on her Marriage cert it is Gates with her signature.
Most census have the same Christian names in the family with
either Yates or Gates or both.Her parents were Benjamin
Yates/Gates mother Mary Ann Tyers of Marylebone Mx + 23/10/1853.
Every document I look at changes. Ancestry trees also can not
agree on

living in the Bristol area from (at least) the late 1700's. My
ancestors are Abraham Pegler, Henry Pegler, Alfred Pegler and

she remarried Mr W Stephens a year later, daughter maried a

Elizabeth Cooper in Adelaide 1855, daughter of George Cooper &
Eliza Canning, Gloucestershire, another daughter found, Sarah.
Maybe her uncle William married to Judith Langford from
Norfolk brought her to Australia?

could be a real treasure to someone! Pity that person is not me.
I'm stuck on my great-grandmothers family which is proving
frustrating, especially as I'm on a very tight budget. Her name
is Blodwen John (b 1892 in Pontarddulais, Swansea, Wales), her
parents are Thomas Benjamin John (we think) and Miriam Hughes.

What a delightful site.
I received the two certificates I requested as well as a
wonderful document detailing the whole family that I was just
starting to research!
What a wonderful surprise and thank you for the kindness.
Researching Surnames :
Norman family from Gamlingay.
Specifically Matthew Henry Norman (born 1869), who was Grandson
of William Sims Norman (Census71), though he listed him as
'Father' on his marriage certificate in Australia.
His Mother listed on his marriage certificate, Mercy Norman
appears to have been William's daughter. William's wife, also
Mercy Norman, died 5 years before Matthew was born.
Any clues as to the father would be appreciated, perhaps a
Matthew Henry as these names do not appear in the family?
