Welcome to our Guest Book - Entries 100 to 150

Do you happen to have a certificate that you have acquired in error?

Then why not go to the 'Submit-Form' and send me the details.

If you happen to have any other document of interest that you wish to share with us all, then please

contact me by Email, as I am sure that I can accommodate them on this site.

Then I can post them on this list in the hope that someone, researching the same family name recognises it as being one of their family relations.

What a brilliant idea to have this Certificate Exchange.

I submitted one this evening that came along with one of mine from a genealogist in England who was doing some research for me. I was wondering where I might post the information for that 'just in case' opportunity to find a descendant who is looking for that information.

My family search takes me to Manchester/Rochdale/Salford/Littleborough etc - then onto Guyana and perhaps even Suriname. Unfortunately record archives in Guyana are dismal and my brick wall is in this country. My 3rd great grandfather who was born in Demerara, Guyana (1829)came to England as a young lad. The researcher discovered that he married twice (1st wife died a couple years after the second child was born). On the marriage certificates he stated his father's name as Richard on the first, and Thomas, on the second. The surname is Meerten(s) and there has been no way yet in the past ten years to discover who his parents actually were. Guyana archives are in a mess (destroyed by floods and fire over the years). No one answers queries. So, we are truly blessed in all the countries who freely gather and post genealogy information. Wishing you all the success with this site (I'll send the link to many people if you don't mind). May your grandson have a speedy and safe recovery from such a serious operation.

Sincerely, vdavies.

Brilliant idea to have a Certificate Exchange site! There must be quite a few "orphan" certificates about. I've listed two which I hope will turn out to be useful to someone. Keep up the good work, also, please accept my thanks for providing another aid in the search for our roots.
