Welcome to the BMD Certificate Exchange Site.
I would like to thank everyone for using this BMD Certificate Exchange Site. There are now over 3,470 Certificate details Listed on this site and looking for new homes, together with 11 Miscellaneous Documents. The purpose of this site is for people to list any Birth, Marriage or Death, Certificates that they may have acquired in error. There is also a section for miscellaneous documents, here we can share details from many different type of documents that we have relating to our family ancestors, I am sure that I can accommodate these useful items. There is a site search facility box further down this page. Please also note that this site is not only for British documents.
I am pleased to be able to tell you that the Marriage Section of this site has now been re-organised. I have now indexed the listing under the Grooms Surname as well as the Brides Surname, so you can now search for marriage listings in the same way as you search the Births and Deaths. I am sure that you will find this much more user friendly, and hope that you now find the site much easier to use. Peter.
Please visit my other Free web site, namely Will Transcriptions Online. I will be listing all the will transcriptions that are now being sent for listing, on the new site. I thought that due to the large number being sent in, it would be better for them to have their own site, and I do hope to build the new site up into a large data base of will transcriptions. So please make a visit to the new site and don't forget to place it in your favourites, as there are transcriptions being added quite often. I have also added to the new site, maps on each County page with the towns where the testator came from, marked on the relevant County. I would ask that you send these transcriptions to me as a 'Word Document' and attach it to an Email, or you can simply send it in the body of the Email. You can use the Contact Button to send Email. I would be happy to know what you think of the new site, so please make an entry in the will transcriptions guest book. There are now 1358 will transcriptions to view on the Will Transcriptions Online site.

NOTICE
New charges for people ordering birth, marriage and death certificates were announced
by Registrar General James Hall. The cost of ordering certificates online with a GRO reference number, using the standard service, will rise from £7.00 to £9.25. A number of other charges, however, will fall to this new standard fee, including those for certificates where customers do not know the reference number. Three of the four priority overnight service charges will also fall to a flat fee of £23.40. There are also going to be increases in the charges made at our local Register Offices, the cost of a Certificate issued by the Superintendent Registrar will be £9.00. I have noticed that there are now a few sites, where you can order and buy BMD Certificates. Some of these sites are charging very high prices such as 20 GB Pounds and more. You can order Direct and pay for Certificates by Telephone & Online at many of the Register Offices now, so please try to save yourself some money and try to deal direct with the Register Office, as a Full Certificate of bmd ordered online with the correct details only cost 7 GB Pounds, until 6th April 2010 (See above Notice). You may find the 'Register Offices' page useful. There is a very extensive list of various register offices around England and Wales, complete with contact details. This section has been Up-Dated in February 2008.

Click here for some Great FREE Trial Offers I feel most data should be available to us all free, but I am afraid that this is not so, I keep searching many places to find these Free Trials, and I do hope that you make use of them, I myself have managed to find quite a few new members to add to my family tree, by using these. But I must admit that I have taken out a couple of subscriptions after using the data bases, but you can cancel at any time, so I feel it is well worth it.

This web site is the place where you can list the Wills of your ancestors, the site contains a collection of Old England Wills. This site is going to grow into a great archive of many will transcriptions in the coming months.
I wish you all well in your researching, and why not make a visit to 'Our Ward Family Website' as I have quite a lot of information there that you may find interesting. As well as giving our family history, I have sections on 1800's Britain, Occupations, Maps, the History of many towns, and so much more, such as full transcripts of the 1841, 1871 & 1881 censuses for the village of Summerseat, which is in Lancashire England.
